1) "A Silver Sixpence in her shoe."
There are many superstitions, traditions, charms, and symbols that are supposed to bring good luck to the couple in the future. The sixpence is an old symbol for prosperity in the marriage that I wish had never gone out of style.
2) Live floral decorations
Live flowers have been used for centuries in bridal bouquets; but for years if flowers were used as reception centerpieces they were silk because silk were often cheaper. More recently, however, brides have been opting for live flowers in not only centerpieces but in large floral arrangements on pedestals or even hanging on the ceilings or walls! Live flowers bring just a little extra joy to the occasion with their fresh scent filling air!
3) Giving away centerpieces
On the other hand, what are you going to do with all of those fresh floral arrangements? Give them away to family and guests! You're going away on your honeymoon and won't be around to enjoy the flowers while they're still fresh, so why not share with those who helped you celebrate!
4) Bow ties
What lady didn't like to see her man in a bow tie? The fact that this is ever not a trend has me a little confused!
5) Kids holding your train as you walk down the aisle.
This trend was popular years ago when outdoor weddings first became all the rage. Brides wanted to be married outside but didn't want to ruin their dress, so they had flower girls, ring bearers, or some of their other favorite children hold up their train so it wouldn't drag on the ground and get dirty.
6) Grandma flower girls
Grandparents are an important part of your wedding day, but sometimes they can be forgotten by guests. Let your grandmas have an important roll in your wedding by letting them sprinkle the aisle with flower petals right before you make your entrance!
7) Guest books that aren't books
Guest books trend to be put into a box in a closet and only pulled out every couple of years, but if you have your guests sign something else, something easier to display, you could create a beautiful keepsake to display for years!
8) Colored gowns
White is nice and all, but pink is so much prettier...
9) Sparklers and fireworks
What better way to celebrate a love that creates fireworks than with fireworks?
10) Unplugged Ceremonies
When I have the opportunity to be a guest at a wedding, I love being able to watch the joy and see the beauty of the day. I love watching the first moments of the rest of this happy couples lives unfold! I want to experience it so I can remember the feelings, the sounds, the emotions - I can't do that if I'm watching through a screen.
