Ah, the seventies!
For a decade full of specific style and fashion, there were actually several trends in the 70's wedding dress. Some brides opted for lots of flowing fabric- a staple of the hippie era. Some brides preferred the short, sassy dresses that were so common in the 60's. Some brides loved the form fitted look to accentuate the waist. Head pieces were back in full force, some brides wearing a simple crown of flowers while others would wear an entire sun cap attached to their veil!
Much like the brides had many style options, so did the grooms! Colored and textured suits and tuxedos were all the rage for the young men getting married. Men really stepped out, using their wedding as a way to show off their incredible fashion sense!
As the feminist movement started reaching new heights, women no longer wanted to vow to "obey" their new husbands and many started to take that part out or would write new vows entirely - starting the trend of couples writing their own vows!
