Pinterest has taken over weddings lately leading everyone to believe they can diy their wedding no matter their skill level! Before ultimately making the decision to have wedding diy take over the home and lives of yourself, your family, your friends, your neighbors, and possibly your work office maybe take these into consideration.
Pro: You have complete control over how things turn out. You don't have to worry about trusting the florist to give you English roses instead of standard, you will be the one putting the flowers in so you'll just know.
Pro: You MIGHT be able to do it yourself cheaper than hiring it out. If you're a crafter already and have the supplies needed to diy, it could be very cost effective!
Con: It will take over your life. Work productivity will go down, no more dates with your fiance. Every waking moment you have will be spent shopping, glueing, folding, dying, burning, tieing, designing, pressing, cutting, sticking, pinning (no, not the Pinterest kind), printing, stamping, drawing, writing, punching, slicing, popping, measuring, buying, twisting, sawing, poking, doing, redoing, and redoing again, and again, and again.
Con: It's probably going to be more expensive. Do you own a hot glue gun? Photoshop? Fancy hole punchers? Rubber stamps? A Cricut? Plus, professionals have access to bulk suppliers and get major discounts because they but thousands of flowers or yards or fabric and ribbon, etc. Usually these savings are passed on to you.
Con: I'm sure you have many great skills and qualities. But if crafting together a wedding isn't in your skill set your wedding might not turn out exactly as you planned.
