This past June, Sweet Events had the absolute pleasure of planning the grand opening for Triple B's BBQ in Fort Wayne. If anyone asks me what my favorite BBQ place in town is, without hesitation I respond "Triple B's! They're off Stelhorn and Maplecrest! Wanna go get some Triple B's?"
Even before the restaurant, however, Triple B's was making my taste buds smile with their catering. I met Ray and Brenda, the owners of Triple B's, at a bridal show we were both attending. They graciously filled me up with tasty samples of their delicious ribs, chicken, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread. I don't usually like cornbread, but this one I loved! My first question to myself and to my husband after the show was "How do I get more of this amazing food?" I couldn't wait until the next opportunity I had to try it. Thankfully, it was only a few short months later that Triple B's opened their restaurant and now I can eat there whenever I want!
Brenda Schenk, one of the owners of Triple B's was kind enough to take time out of her busy day to answer a few questions for me about their business!
What's your favorite item on the menu? Pulled pork nachos is my favorite item.
How did you get started in catering? My husband was into catering before we met. Starting into catering was probably the easiest transition since we did it on weekends at first.
What's the biggest event you've ever catered? We catered for 225 people . It was a wedding
Have you had any weird catering requests, if so what were they? I wouldn't say weird.. but a wedding where they didn't eat pork..so we made everything with turkey bacon. It was different. We enjoyed it.
