Vendor Showcase: Dallich Entertainment

The first time Sweet Events met Jason was at a bridal resale show we were hosting. The point of the show was to help our upcoming brides save money by purchasing gently used wedding items from our former brides. "Make $, Save $" was what we called the show. We had discussed the possibility of asking a few vendors to join us to offer their services, but didn't really have anybody in mind. Jason messaged us a few days later asking if we would be interested in having a DJ at the show and we agreed, not entirely certain what we had gotten ourselves into. We were very lucky because he turned out to be a great guy! Beyond knowledgeable, he knows exactly what to play to get the crowd in the desired mood, plus he's genuinely funny and personable as a Master of Ceremonies! I had the pleasure of interviewing Jason of Dallich Entertainment and it was so much fun getting to know him and his story even better!

"What made you decide to start Dallich Entertainment?"

I have ALWAYS had a dream of being able to work for myself. I have also ALWAYS been a bit of an entertainer. I have been a guitar player since I was 11 years old & have been a hip hop dancer for just as long. The passion for music has always been there! I also enjoy being able to help others. All of these details created the perfect recipe for me to own my own entertainment business. "Do you remember your first wedding? What was something memorable that happened?"

I remember my first wedding like it was yesterday! It was a rainy day in late April a few years ago... The bride & the groom had both been married before so the reception was more about the celebration compared to the formalities of a standard wedding reception. I almost felt as if I was getting off easy but I wanted to do more than just play music to party to. No one had a speech prepared so I took it upon myself to make a toast to the bride & the groom. Although I did not know much about the bride & groom personally I pulled a rabbit out of my hat. My speech made reference to "One GREAT family being ADDED to another GREAT family equals a marriage that EQUALS happily ever after. My speech really touched everyone in the room because the bride was an elementary school math teacher & no one expected anyone to give a speech. The bride & groom were both VERY appreciative of the effort & we are STILL friends to this day!

"That's so wonderful! What's one song that must be included in every wedding reception?"
This is a bit of a scattered answer but it all depends upon at what time of the reception... Every wedding MUST have the first dance as husband & wife- whatever that song may be. However during "party time" I have NEVER made it out of a wedding without playing The Cha-Cha Slide or Watch Me/ Whip & Nae Nae.
"What's something that sets you apart from other wedding DJs and MCs?"

There are several things that set me apart of other DJ's. In the entertainment industry you have to have something "special" to make it worth it. I take weddings VERY seriously because it needs to be a positive memory that will be remembered until the end of time. I don't look at it as a job. I look at it as an opportunity to do something special that someone has never done before... And it is FUN for me. I am an ordained minister. I can play acoustic guitar for the ceremony & DJ your reception. I know a lot of other DJ's will interact with the crowd but I am the DJ that will get out there in with a selfie stick... I am also the DJ that will help bring the dance floor to life- I did mention I was a hip hop dancer right? Ha! Ha! One particular client was supposed to have her grandfather say the prayer before dinner but he passed away before the wedding. The bride had multiple voicemails on her phone of her grandfather saying prayers. I was able to take these recordings into my music studio & create a "recorded prayer from heaven" from her grandfather that was played before dinner. There was not a dry eye in the house! My clients are more than just clients- I become friends with most of them. I do what I do for fun and to benefit those who need my services at an affordable price. If you do something "special" for people the word seems to travel fast. I keep quite busy & my calendar fills VERY quickly. I look forward to the future success of Dallich Entertainment based upon these principals.
