1) Pop cans tied to the newlyweds car
Is it tacky? Yes, horribly so. But it's fun and the noise attracts attention so everyone knew you were just married! When I was a kid I couldn't wait to cruise around town with the cans tied to the back of my car. But alas, if I had done that when I got married the stares I would have gotten would have been off bewilderment, not excitement.
2) Disposable Cameras
Admit it, if you went to a wedding and found a disposable camera you took it upon yourself to put as many 2D memories in that thing as it would hold. In the days before camera phones and hashtags this was the fastest way to see pictures from your big day. Plus, seeing it from the point of view of the guests is always fun!
3) Photo Booths
I can't think of a more fun or memorable way to make sure you have a picture of everyone who was at your wedding! Plus, it's a memento your guests might actually appreciate!
4) Junior Bride
As a former junior bride myself I might be a little biased. Instead of having your favorite little girl litter your church with flower petals, make her feel special by dressing up like you! Complete with tiny bouquet and veil, when I was a junior bride I even got to wear high heels! I felt even prettier that the bride (my aunt)!
5) Short Ceremonies
All weddings are beautiful, but ceremonies can feel incredibly drug out after a while. Short and to the point ceremonies are my favorite!
6) Tall centerpieces
Even the simplest of centerpieces feel classier and add more depth to the room if you raise them up using tall vases. Plus, the added glass adds a dimension of sparkle that might not have been there before.
7) Chocolate Fountains
If I'm at a wedding that has a chocolate fountain and plenty things to dip in it I'm totally skipping the cake for this.
8) Subtle Themes
It used to be that your colors were your only theme for your wedding, then there were the over the top themes- like circus, complete with performers. Themes lately are much more subdued: old Hollywood glamour, vintage, woodland, themes that might not be noticeable at first until you look back on the day as a whole.
9) Cascading Hairstyles
Gone are the days where everyone in the wedding party had the same prom-inspired updo hairstyle! Brides have started letting their hair down with half updos, or just letting bridal curls fall freely. Brides-and everyone- look so much more beautiful when they're relaxed; having a hairstyle that is free of 942 hairpins stabbing your scalp is definitely more relaxing!
10) Daisies
Don't get me wrong, roses and lilies are beautiful and scream bridal, but it's so nice to see variety. Dasies especially are beautiful flowers that have an innocence about them making them seem perfect for weddings. Plus, daisies come in many different and vibrant colors making them easy to match with any color palette!
