Why Hire A Wedding Planner?

If you've ever wondered why wedding planners exist (and why people actually pay to have this service provided), don't worry, you're not the only one. From the outside, it doesn't seem to make much sense in many situations. If you are capable of making decisions and paying for everything you need by yourself, why would you think to spendextra money to have someone else do it for you? And doesn't that take all of the fun out of it? It's a natural thought process.
What people don't realize is, there are innumerable pros to having an experienced, professional wedding planner working with you to help your day go perfectly. Here are just a few of the big reasons:
  1. Time. People tend to underestimate how much time goes into planning a wedding. If you have a job, family, school, or other responsibilities, everything that goes into planning a wedding may either fall to the side, or take away valuable time from the other important aspects of your life. That's one of the great things about wedding planners! They can take care of as much of as little as you need them to, so that you can focus on the things you need to focus on, and play a part in the planning of your wedding!
  2. Stress. This is supposed to be one of the most magical days of your life, and along with it, one of the most stressful. How many people should I invite? How many people are going to show up? How am I going to fit that many people in one room? How will the image I have in my head turn out in person? When will everything  set up, and will it be set up the way I want it? Wedding planners know how to handle these questions. They will work alongside you to make sure your day turns out the way you want it to. They will make sure your decor is exactly how you want it. They know how weddings work, and they will make sure your wedding works the way you want it to, so that you don't have to stress about it.
  3. Questions. Weddings cause a lot of questions to be asked. Who has the best quality? Who has the best price? Who can give me exactly what I want for the price I want? What questions am I supposed to ask these people? What answers should I want? And that's all before the day actually comes. Questions like "When are they going to show up?", "What are they going to do when they're here?", "When will I have time to them?", "What happens if they don't come?". These are all serious concerns that you shouldn't have to worry about. Wedding planners already know what questions to ask, what answers you should get, and they always have a Plan B (and even C).
  4. Guidance. No matter how many questions you have, wedding planners have asked more. They know the answers, or will hunt them down for you, that way you know what is going on at all times during the planning process. Planners can guide you through every hurtel your wedding throws at you, and there will be plenty.
  5. Probably the most important of all: money. How can your stay within your budget and still get everything you want including a wedding planner? What most people don't realize is a wedding planner can save you enough money to pay for their services, plus some. A huge part of being a wedding planner is networking with any and all vendors that have anything that may even remotely have to do with a wedding. This means that they know caterers, venue owners, florists, DJs, photographers, hotel managers, officiants, glass etchers, tailors, wedding dress shop owners, everyone you can imagine. They have met them, had lunch or coffee with them, they know them both professionally and personally. Which means that wedding planners know who has the best quality for the best price, how to get those prices lowered, and the right person to call about anything. Imagine this: a bride is looking into a caterer who will serve her 175 guests for $12.50/guest, a pretty average price that is within her food and beverage budget. She asked her wedding planner about the caterer menu and price. Her planner takes a look at the menu and sees that it's very similar to a menu "Todd" serves. Todd is a small, locally owned caterer that the planner just went to lunch with a week ago. He can serve the same menu for $8/guest rather than $12.50/guest. That would save the bride $787.50 on food and beverage!
These are just a few of the many reasons why brides and grooms hire wedding planners to assist them with the planning and coordinating of their big day. Who want to worry about the lack of time, the abundance of stress, the multitude of questions, the invaluable guidance, and the oh-so-important money factor when they're planning their wedding? That's why we, and every other wedding planner, are here to help you, your fiance, and your families throughout the entire process.
